Quests and Scoring

QUEST LIST

In order to qualify, your Canopian must be present in the quest unless otherwise noted. Points can be found below.

GENERAL

This is the catch-all for any canon Canopian quest. If you’re not sure where it goes--it’s a general quest!

PROMPT

Every so often there will be a special prompt (or several) and these can be completed once by each character (for example, if you have five Canopians, you can do each one up to five times, once for each). Prompts will appear on Discord or on the front page.

WORLDBUILDING

Depictions of various parts of the Canopian world--livestock, places, plants, etc.--that are accompanied by a brief description do not have to include a Canopian to count for points. You can draw the house your Canopian lives in for points without having to include them! For simple items, please include at least three separate items to qualify for points.

FLIGHTS OF FANCY

This is a quest to design a dream Canopian! You can post any full-body concept art (must have at least flat color) and it will count for full points. This is NOT a canon Canopian and should not be treated as one, but you can make it a reality later!

DIMENSION HOPPING

This is the catch-all for all AUs. Yes, all AUs are worth points. You can fully port your Canopian into a human high school AU and it counts for points, we just ask that they in some way be recognizable as the same character, however you choose to interpret that. Go nuts!

POINTS

There is a maximum points per day cap of 15. Other than that, there is no maximum, and you are free to earn 15 points every single day if you so desire.

These are subject to change as we feel out the game need to rebalance things, but we will always let you keep pre-existing scores and will announce points changes as publicly as possible. Please check on this page frequently while we work out the bumps instead of scoring from memory!

Sketches, uncolored lineart, simple doodles, etc. 1
Colored OR shaded art 3 points per each Canopian present
Colored AND shaded art 5 points per each Canopian present

BONUSES - ART

Full body (at least 75% visible) +2 points per each Canopian present
Prompt +2
Simple background +1
- Simple backgrounds should be identifiable as a background and should be hand drawn--no photos etc. Simple shapes/gradients do not count.
Full scenic background +5
- Full backgrounds consist of a definite fore, mid, and background with some form of definite lighting. They do not have to fill the entire canvas but should serve as complete platform or backdrop.
Gift +1
- Gift art prepared for free/no compensation of any kind for another player qualify for this bonus. Please ask before drawing someone’s character. Does not apply to trades.
Fauna +1
- Maximum of +3 per piece with this. Does NOT apply to unofficial fauna (only ones listed on this website, and does not apply to Birds of Paradise, who receive a separate bonus. Fauna must be pictured directly in the artwork, not as drawings on items/motifs on clothing/etc.
Bird of Paradise +2
- Maximum of +2 per piece with this. Bird of Paradise must be pictured directly in the artwork, not as drawongs on items/motifs on clothing/etc.

BASE SCORE - WRITING

Up to 250 words 1
Up to 500 words 3
500-1000 words 5

BONUSES - WRITING

Structured poetry +1
- Structured poetry would be a sonnet, etc. with a definite meter and rhyme scheme. Groups of poems (like groups of limericks or haiku) only receive this bonus once.
Novelist +2 points for each 500 words after 1000
- For example, a 2000 word story would be 5 (base score) plus Novelist x2 for a total of 9 points.
Gift +1
- Gift art prepared for free/no compensation of any kind for another player qualify for this bonus. Please ask before writing someone’s character. Does not apply to trades.
Fauna +1
- Maximum of +3 per piece with this. Does NOT apply to unofficial fauna (only ones listed on this website, and does not apply to Birds of Paradise, who receive a separate bonus. Fauna must be described clearly or perform an action of some kind; being mentioned in passing does not qualify for this bonus.
Bird of Paradise +2
- Maximum of +2 per piece with this. Bird of Paradise must be described clearly or perform an action of some kind; being mentioned in passing does not qualify for this bonus.

COLLABORATION RULES

For collaborations involving multiple people, please divide the finished score equally among all participants, and then add a +2 collaboration bonus per person.

COMMISSION RULES

Both artist and commissioner receive full points for all commissioned work.
