Can I spend any points on any character?

I have a lore question.

Please feel free to ask the Discord. If you’re not introducing something world shaking, you’re probably fine to include it. For example: it’s OK to invent a myth of a big ghost creature living in a nearby tree, but not OK to say that the ghost is definitely real. Your character can see something they think might be the ghost, and even get a creepy feeling--but they cannot verifiably see a ghost. It’s OK to invent food, games, stories, songs, dances, etc. It’s not OK to invent new anatomy. It’s OK to invent little NPCs for your writing (merchants, hunters, etc. or a rich nobleman in the market) but not OK to invent a new nobleman who rules an entire tree (too much impact on the world!). It’s OK to say that there’s been a huge thunderstorm, but not OK to say that there is a wildfire raging. 

 

Or you can do all of those things, declare it non canon, and post it as a Dimension Hopping quest!

 

Please remember the technology as much as possible: clay is very rare, fire is generally forbidden, and stone is nearly unheard of except in small quantities among the upper classes. Things are made of fiber and wood. 

 

Can my character be _____?

If it’s a points-restricted class or if it alters the fabric of the world, no. If it’s nearly anything else, probably yes. Your character can be a contact juggler who juggles balls made out of wood. She can be pretty famous in the markets, and some may even know her name. She can’t be an intertree celebrity with a huge fan following that’s a household name (unless she is also a High Noble). Your character can be deaf, blind, mute, neurodiverse--whatever you like so long as it follows community guidelines and isn’t openly magic. Religious figures can BELIEVE that they are magic, but there should not be open proofs of it. 

 

Can I design my friend’s Canopian?

With their permission, yes! They will need to post it for approval though. 

 

Can I draw a non-existent Canopian?

Yes! They are not canon and will fall under the Flights of Fancy quest. 

 

Can I write/draw an AU?

Yes! They are not canon and will fall under the Dimension Hopping quest.
